Ven. Thich Tam Hien
Rev. Thich Tam Hien was Roshi An Giao's senior disciple having studied with him since 1981, when he took lay precepts. In 1982, Rev. Tam Hien entered the priesthood when he took the eight precepts of a postulant monk with Ven. An Giao. In 1994, Rev. Tam Hien, after many years as a postulant and novice, received the full ordination of a Zen monk and was transmitted the linage of the Lam Te Zen School by Ven. An Giao. In 2000, he was recognized by Roshi An Giao as a Zen Master. He died of pancreatic cancer on October 7th, 2002. Rev. Tam Hien was the Vice Abbot of the Desert Zen Center.
