Support
The Desert Zen Center has no patrons nor wealthy members. The finances for the day-to-day running of our temple are provided by the labor of the resident monks. Financial contributions are always welcome.Traditional donations are incense, flowers, fruit, candles, and food. Food donated to the temple is eaten by the resident monks although dry and canned goods maybe shared with those in need in the local community. Fruit is also eaten by the monks or sangha members after sitting on the altar for a couple of days. Flowers add a beauty and fragrance to the altar. They also represent impermanence since they wilt and fade with the passing of time. Another traditional way of support is to donate time to work around the temple.
